Don’t engage with unwanted energies or perceptions and it will go away. You do not have to accept what the Mental Self tries to buy for you.

There is a very important question that should be asked and answered: what is the difference between the Spiritual Self providing advice, and the Mental Self providing direction. Although, both have its own important place in your life, both demands that time be spent on their “projects” more so than the others. So, what is the difference?

The Mental Self loves to occupy your time through projects that will provide you with food for thought, and this is very important to have in your life. It’s what could be “character building”, which everybody should work on. The individual who professes to be “perfect in everyway” perhaps need these character-building projects the most, and in fact, the first project they can tackle is by discovering their own flaws and how they are, in fact, not perfect after all.

The Spiritual Self loves to occupy your time by advancing your life path in the direction of your Spiritual Contract. Perhaps, contained within your Spiritual Contract you desired to write your own book. How frequently you write and what you write about is determined by your Spiritual Self. The style you write in is through your Mental Self, or Character of the Self.

Often, in the morning, the self prepares to go to work and hence prepares to work on the Spiritual Contract. It takes place right in the morning after we’ve slept a full night and have woken up and felt refreshed. Then we return home in the evening and need a moment to unwind. So often we watch a tv show or movie or even read a book. This is where the character of the Self is working on their projects and is learning how that tv show can improve one’s perspective of their reality or how the book is teaching the self how one should feel about certain situations which are covered through the plot points of the book.

Both parts of the Self can sometimes get stuck in this “I’m more important” argument, when in fact, both parts of the self are equally important. It can sometimes take self-training to learn to volley time back and forth between both parts of the self, often moderated by the Physical Self. It is almost as though the Physical Self points at which direction they should take, which is completely based off how much energy is available to tackle a project. Oftentimes the Spiritual Self requires an individual to move about, to learn about the world, interact with other individuals, while the Mental Self prefers to observe the world, sometimes even through watching television programs or reading a book. It’s how each part of the self learns enough to complete their projects, however, the Mental Self only choses projects like throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks. Should you lose interest in a project, or lacks interests from the very beginning, it’s ok to say no and move on to something that hold your interest. The Spiritual Self, however, wants you to feel welcomed and ready to tackle their projects, and should you decide to skip a project, the project will come back around to a move convenient time to see if you are ready for it.
